Support the Referral Center through a Matching Gift

This is a reprint of my column from the July 2020 Carillon Notes. Read the whole newsletter here.

As you may know, the DeWitt Referral Center is in the midst of a fundraising campaign for their new building. Of course, the Center is also meeting the needs of people in our community right now. To help us show our support for the Referral Center’s amazing work, the Generosity Leadership Team has approved a matching grant for gifts to the Center. The First Congregational United Church of Christ Endowment will match up to $1,000 for the Center’s immediate needs and up to $10,000 for the building campaign!

That means that your gift to the Referral Center this summer can be doubled!

Here’s how it works: When you make a gift to First Congregational United Church of Christ and mark it for either ‘Referral Center General’ or ‘Referral Center Building’, we will hold onto that money. At the end of July, we’ll take what you’ve given and match it (up to $1,000 for the general fund and up to $10,000 for the building campaign). We’ll send the money, along with your names and contact information, to the Referral Center, so that they can acknowledge and recognize you appropriately. If you’d like your gift to remain anonymous, just let us know.

Together, we could give $2,000 to provide immediate help to people in our community and $20,000 to help the Referral Center serve our community even better than it does now. And, of course, your personal gifts to the Referral Center are always appreciated.

Thank you for your generous support. Give your gift today, and let’s do something amazing for our Referral Center!

Our Sanctuary is Closed.
Our Church is Open.

We are committed to being the church and protecting the health of our community. Our sanctuary is currently closed. But we are still worshipping on Sunday mornings. There are three ways that you can join us for worship.

In our parking lot. We are gathering in our parking lot for live radio services at 9:30 on Sunday mornings. Stay in your car—or sit in our green space with your own chair and portable radio—and listen on 1610 AM.

On Facebook and YouTube. Enjoy a prerecorded worship service at 9:30 on Sunday mornings (or any time after that) on Facebook or YouTube.

Through our podcast. Our weekly podcast includes worship and is available on ITunes, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Podbean.

Our office is still open Monday through Thursday.
