The Bible is a central part of Christian life. At First Congregational United Church of Christ, we take the Bible seriously, not literally. And part of how we do that is by spending time studying Biblical stories.

In the fall of 2018, we’re spending time with the story of Abraham. The Abraham cycle is a foundational story for Jews, Christians, and Muslims. As the story of the first patriarch, it tells us about the covenant between God and Israel, and gives us an example of a faithful servant of God. As an ancient story, it also has some weird bits that challenge traditional images of God.
