Tidings of comfort and joy! The winter season is a time for anticipation and celebration and the church enters the season of Advent followed by the Christmas season. First Congregational United Church of Christ has several opportunities to learn and worship during these holy seasons.
For a variety of reasons, Christmas can be a difficult season for some reason. Maybe you’ve lost a loved one during the year, experienced a divorce, or are simply far from home. If Christmas brings more tears than joy this year, please join us for a Blue Christmas service. Blue Christmas is a special, more contemplative service for anyone who is struggling this holiday season
Christmas Eve Family Service
Our first Christmas Eve service is a family-oriented service similar to our usual Sunday morning service. There will be a children’s time, Christmas carols, a short sermon, and the traditional candlelight singing of Silent Night.
Christmas Eve Lessons and Carols Service
Out second Christmas Eve service is a lessons and carols service. We’ll hear the Christmas story and join together in singing several carols throughout the service. And, of course, we’ll end with the traditional candlelight singing of Silent Night.
And Don't Forget to Join Us Every Week!
Worship is a central part of our life at First Congregational United Church of Christ. It is a time for us to come together as a community, learn from the scriptures, and praise the living God. Whether you’re already a member, looking for a new church home, or thinking about church for the first time, we hope you’ll join us this Sunday morning!
